Q.
What is the status of the parking lot across from Rembrandt's?
A. The abandoned Philadelphia School Board Lot, with which we have enjoyed free parking since
1985, was opened as a pay lot on February 1, 2000 . The result is easily the nicest
looking parking lot in the city. It is a well-lit, tree-lined, tree-filled, 274-space, parking lot with a decorative six-foot fence, brick-columned corner and middle gates and an attractive trolley stop and sculpture plaza at the corner of 22nd St. and Fairmount Avenue.
The entrance is on Fairmount Avenue between 22nd and 23rd streets. Charges for
parking are $3.00 per hour, $5.00 per day , $6.00 per evening and $60.00 per month for out-of-area residents. The lot
will be secured at night and is manned 24 hours a day. Entrance to the lot
after midnight is on Fairmount Avenue. The lot will be plowed immediately after snowstorms.
If you park in the lot, drive to the top and exit through one of the two gates at the top and go across the street to Rembrandt's, about 25 yards.
These links to a list of Directions and Maps will help you get to the new parking lot easily.
Q. Which credit cards does Rembrandt's accept?
A. Rembrandt's accepts the following credit cards.
Q. Why does Rembrandt's have a 1-800-REMBRANdt's phone number?
A. The 1-800-REMBRANdt's phone number or 1-800-736-2726 is intended to be used for out-of-town guests and for those guests who want to make last minute reservations via cell phone or while driving and do not remember our phone number. This feature is particularly useful when returning from the shore points or mountains and you want to phone ahead for reservations.
Q. Does Rembrandt's have sidewalk dining?
A. Yes, On May 29th, 2001, our 16th Anniversary, Rembrandt's began its sidewalk cafe. All of our menus are available and seating is first-come first-served as we do not take reservations typically for the sidewalk. We do make an exception for reservations for certain special events such as the 4th of July.
Q. Does Rembrandt's have a smoke-free area?
A. Yes. Rembrandt's is completely smoke-free. We have had both a
smoke-free dining room and cafe for many years. As a result of the
city's new non-smoking ordinance, our only remaining smoking bar is now
smoke-free as well.
Q. Does Rembrandt's require reservations?
A. Reservations are recommended but not necessary. Reservations are strongly recommended on Friday and Saturday evenings. We will do everything possible to seat you if you happen to arrive without a reservation.
Q. Is Rembrandt's handicap accessible?
A. Rembrandt's dining room is accessible by wheelchair in the lower section through the rear door.
A new handicap bathroom is also available on that level as you come through the
rear door. The new Cafe entrance on 23rd street is accessible via a ramp
and has a handicap bathroom on that level. The second floor Banquet room
also has handicap bathrooms and is accessible via the new elevator. When you call for reservations, let us know you will be in a wheelchair or have difficulty with steps and we will assist you.
Q. Does Rembrandt's Bar serve food in the mid-afternoon period between Lunch and Dinner?
A. Yes. Rembrandt's
Lunch and Tavern Menu is available in the Bar, the Cafe and the Sidewalk Cafe from 2:30PM every day until the close of dinner and sometimes later. Details are available here.
Q. Does Rembrandt's serve Lunch on Saturday?
A. Yes. In fact we are one of the few fine dining restaurants open on Saturday afternoon.
Q. Does Rembrandt's have Private Party Facilities?
A. In addition to our
main dining room on the first floor, Rembrandt's expansion provides for two
additional private party facilities depending on the size of the party and the
type of venue. The three rooms each have their own ambiance and are
suitable for many various size parties from 10 to over a total of 130 if combing
rooms. The rooms are available for corporate functions, tour groups and private or semi-private parties depending on the day and time. For group
