HOW TO PLAY QUIZZOMANIA AT REMBRANDTS
Quizzomania at Rembrandt's is played every Tuesday
starting at 9:00PM in the Bar. Teams are created and are hopefully limited
to no more than six persons, however this rule is often broken. The name of the
team is important and is almost always irreverent.
The Quizzomaster starts the proceedings by reading a few "shout out" questions. The winners of the shout out questions receive a prize, usually a t-shirt.
Teams are given ample blank answer sheets with space for
8 to 10 questions each, a place for a bonus question and a box to state whether
you intend to joker (double) your score and a space for your team name.. The Quizzomaster then proceeds to ask rounds of
8 to 10
questions each. Bonus questions are sometimes included. Recently a music round
of approximately 8 or 9 songs has been added. At the end of
each round the sheets are turned in and scored by the Quizzomaster. The team scores are announced
and the next round is started. The
Quizzomaster will always repeat a question at the end of each round when
requested to do so.
After the second or third round the Quizzomaster starts the third
round by handing out a sheet of 10 photos with a single theme. Once again the scores are given after which the Quizzomaster starts the fourth and final 10 question round.
At the end of the 1st, 2nd and 4th rounds, a decision
must be made as to whether to "Joker" the round. Only one round may be
jokered. The act of jokering is merely to place an "x" in the joker block. This
has the effect of doubling your score. Only primary questions are affected, not
extra credit questions. The music and picture rounds may not be jokered.
At the end of the fourth round, the winners of first and
second prize are announced and they are presented with their prizes.
Occasionally ties will occur between both first and second or second and third.
In this event a tiebreaker is given and the winner gets the prize.
First prize is a $50.00 dining gift certificate and
second place prize is a $25.00 dining gift certificate. The entire game lasts
between 1 1/2 and 2 hours.
Rules, as is often the case, are occasionally broken.
The Quizzomaster may alter some of the rules above however the basic structure
remains the same.
And of course, only at Rembrandt's, the team photos will be put on the Rembrandt's website.
Enjoy the game, eat some of Rembrandt's great food and please be sure to tip your server
