How to get away from
So you've been to Rembrandt's and had an enjoyable dining experience, but now it's time to leave, you're new to the area and some of the streets are confusing. Hopefully the below directions will help you find your way back home or to your next adventure.
Whether you are parked on the street in front of Rembrandt's or in the lot across the street, most of our customers will need to go to the corner of Fairmount Avenue and 23rd Street. If you are parked on the street in front of Rembrandt's, simply make a left at the corner of 23rd Street. (The one exception from the lot is if you are going to Center City, make a left out of the parking lot and follow the "From Center City" directions below) From the corner of 23rd and Fairmount, follow the directions to your destination below.
TO CENTER CITY:
Make a left onto Fairmount Avenue and go two blocks to 21st Street. Make a
right and go down to Market St. about 6 blocks. Make a left. If you
are staying at a hotel they are typically on a numbered street and you should be
able to determine where to go from 21st and Market. Market is the dividing
line for North and South so your address should reflect that direction.
For Rittenhouse Square, make a right at 19th street.
TO KELLY (or EAST RIVER) DRIVE:
From 23rd and Fairmount make a right onto Fairmount. Go past 25th street
to Pennsylvania. Go across Pennsylvania Ave. to the light. Make a right
onto Kelly Drive.
TO I-95: (Via 676, Vine Street
Expressway)
From 23rd and Fairmount, go straight on 23rd to
the five way intersection of Pennsylvania Ave., Spring Garden St and 23rd
St. Go to 2:00 to Spring Garden St. going through Kelly Drive to the
steps of the Art Museum. Stay to your left and go around Eakins Oval to
the light at the intersection of the Parkway and the end of West River
drive. GET OVER TO YOUR RIGHT. In front of you on the right is the
entrance to the Vine Street Expressway or 676, behind the four Park Town
apartments. This will take you to the 676 Expressway. Ease
over to the left lane to go to I-95 South (Chester) or North (Trenton).
You may also go:
TO THE BEN FRANKLIN BRIDGE (New Jersey) OR OLD CITY: (Via 676 Vine Street Expressway)
Once you are on the Vine Street Expressway heading East, exit at 6th street for Old City or the Ben Franklin Bridge. Everything is well marked but as a precaution be sure to get over to you far left for the bridge after you leave the ramp
TO THE SCHUYKILL EXPRESSWAY:
Make a left onto Fairmount Avenue and go two blocks to 21st Street. Make a
right and go down to Market St. about 6 blocks. Make a right. Go
across the Schuykill River Bridge to 29th street. Make a right to go North
(West) to the Blue Route (476), Valley Forge, King of Prussia and the Turnpike
or turn left to go South (East) for the Sports Stadium, The Airport, Chester or
to connect to I-95.
TO THE ART MUSEUM:
Go down 23rd St to the first light after Fairmount Ave. Make a right
and go to 25th Street. Make a left onto 25th Street. (The Joan of
Arc Statue is in the middle of 25th street). Go straight across Kelly Drive into
the Art Museum. Parking for the Art Museum is at the top of the ramp on
your left. You may in fact drive all around the entire Art Museum on the
top level, perhaps stopping to see the Rocky View at the top of the steps, while
looking for parking.
BUS ROUTES:
The 48 and the 7 both stop at Rembrandt's on the corner of 23rd and Aspen Streets. The 48 travels down 21st street to Market St., turns around in Old City, and returns on Arch street and back up 22nd St. The 7 travels down 21st street to Market, makes a right to 23rd and goes to Oregon avenue in South Philadelphia and returns up 22nd St.
BUS TOUR OPPORTUNITIES:
The Philadelphia
Trolley Company (also known as 76 Carriage) loops the city every 90 minutes. The
cost is reasonable, about $15.00 per day, with unlimited on and off stops for
museums and other tourist attractions such as the Eastern State Penitentiary.
You may park at the lot across from Rembrandt's for 24 hours for $8.00 and pick
up the trolley at the corner of 22nd and Fairmount and return. Of course Lunch
and Dinner are available at Rembrandt's 7 days a week.
BON APPETIT!!!
