Celebrating Our 23nd Year!
Welcome to Rembrandt's Restaurant and Bar home page. I cordially invite you to tour our website. Rembrandt's is located in the Fairmount Section of the Art Museum Area in Philadelphia. We offer romantic fine dining in our elegant dining room and a turn-of-the-century, friendly, neighborhood bar and an adjacent comfortable café. Our banquet facilities feature a striking view of the Philadelphia City Skyline and a fireplace cocktail lounge. Our prices are reasonable, our parking is ample and we are only a 5 minute walk to the Philadelphia Museum of Art and a 5 minute drive (or 20 minute walk) to and from the downtown area of the 6th largest and most historic city in the United States. Hopefully you will discover Rembrandt's when you come to Philadelphia.

interesting reviews recently. I'll dig out the older reviews and eventually
put them in here.

TEXAS HOLD EM' TOURNAMENT
Rembrandt's
hosts a Texas Hold Em' tournament every Monday evening starting roughly at
7:30PM for sign in. Entry is free. Prizes are dependent on the
number of players and the whim of the occasional sponsor. Join us every Monday
to try your luck or just come in to learn how to play. Early-outs can play
darts, watch one of our large screen TV's or start up another poker game on one
of our other tables.
Rembrandt's is happy to sponsor one of the premier teams, hereafter known as
the Rembrandt Dart Team, of the Olde English Dart League of Philadelphia. Click in here
for a few pictures and to go to the website for the Old English Dart League for
their schedule of games at the various bars throughout the city
Rembrandt's Cafe, features two large screen (42" and 50") HD Plasma TV's to compliment
the two large HD TV's in the original bar, a new
oak bar with a turn-of-the-century kneeboard (originally from Strawbridge and
Clothier third floor coffee shop), swiveling turnstile columns which display our liquor selections.
Originally conceived as a non-smoking bar, Rembrandt's embraces fully the new
city code requiring bars and restaurants to be smoke free
Rembrandt's now offers 5 styles of authentic Italian pizza made in our new
wood burning brick oven. We have
heard only good response to our newest menu item. Take-out is available
but the best way to enjoy these pizza's is right out of the oven with an ice
cold draft beer. Menu selections and the Executive Chef's philosophy about his
pizzas is rolled out inside.
Note: On March 31, 2005 Rembrandt's was
in Craig Lebans list as one of the best Pizza Restaurants in
Philadelphia.

Note: In the

sidewalks and easy access to our kitchen we think we can offer dining and
service unparalleled in the Fairmount neighborhood, if not the city.

FRIENDS
OF EASTERN STATE PENITENTIARY PARK
This CDC is actively pursuing an approach to the highest and best use of
the area on the eastern and northern borders of Eastern State Penitentiary on
Brown and Corinthian Streets. After years of discussion, disagreement,
disillusionment and eventual decision making, it appears that they have arrived
at an excellent solution. Now they need the help and support of the
neighborhood to continue their plans. Their website is accessible from here.
FAIRMOUNT
ASSOCIATIONS
The Community of Fairmount has two very dynamic
organizations created to improve the quality of life in our neighborhood. The
Fairmount Civic Association is a member driven organization which charges annual
dues of $15.00 per year per person. The Fairmount Community Development
Corporation is a non-profit group whose mandate by their board of directors is
to develop community based improvements to our neighborhood. You can join the
FCA and take an active part in decisions, events and activities in your
neighborhood and by doing so you can also effect the ideas and decisions of the
Fairmount CDC . Check in here to find out what is of interest in the area.
OUR
MUSEUM NEIGHBORS WEBSITES
These are neighbors of interest in or about the Fairmount and Art Museum
Areas. You might want to visit them during your stay in Philadelphia. They
include but are not limited to The Eastern State Penitentiary Historic Site,
The Philadelphia Museum of Art, The Rodin Museum, The Franklin Institute,
The Philadelphia Zoo, Girard College, The Fairmount Waterworks and many other historic attractions all of which are no more
than a 5 minute drive from Rembrandt's or in most cases a 20 minute or less
walk.
SCHOOLS
AND UNIVERSITIES
Philadelphia is one of the great cities in America for institutions of
higher learning. Fairmount has become a bedroom community for most of these
schools and Rembrandt's is centrally located to them as well. We consider
ourselves fortunate to be represented by the University Of Pennsylvania,
Wharton, Temple, Drexel, St. Joseph's, Moore College of Art, Community College,
Bache-Martin School, The Philadelphia Mennonite High School and the William
Penn Demonstration High School and the Fairmount Arts Center. They all have websites and you can get to them
from here.
